Rev. Kermit Cornell Moss,
Sr.
Pastor Kermit Cornell Moss, Sr. is a graduate of Long Island University-Brooklyn
campus, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science. He
graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity with a
focus in Theology, Youth and Culture. His research centered primarily on
pastoral care of urban African-American young men, Hip-Hop Culture and
liberation theologies. Pastor Moss participated in an extensive internship with
Congressman Edolphus Towns 12th Congressional District – New York as
special assistant over housing. He served as Assistant to the Senior Pastor and
Director of Young Adult Ministry at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens,
which has been at the forefront of faith-based community development in New
Jersey. He was the lead educator for a federally funded program to teach
healthy relationships and abstinence until marriage to 5,000 youth in public
schools and community organizations throughout Central Jersey.
Pastor Moss spent six months in the Philippines preaching and teaching to over a
thousand youth and adults and participated in prison ministry preaching and
teaching. He functioned as Chaplain of The Association of Black Seminarians at
Princeton Theological Seminary and has prior experience as an Associate Pastor
at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia. He was a board member of
the Zakee Bowser Foundation, the youngest board member of the Rutgers University
Protestant Campus Ministries, member of the Franklin Township Interfaith
Commission and member of the Franklin Township Youth Initiative. He has been
guest minister, revivalist and conference speaker in churches in Philadelphia,
New York City, Houston and throughout New Jersey and Virginia. He is married to
Antoinette Gaboton-Moss who is pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Doctrine
and History in the School of Divinity at Regent University. Pastor Kermit and
First Lady Antoinette have three wonderful children: Kermit Jr., Sebastian, and
Chloe. Pastor Moss has a warm and welcoming manner, a critical mind and
prophetic voice, a deep sense of God’s presence, a ready sense of humor and a
clear-headed sense of priorities that help him keep family, church and academic
pursuits in proper order.
